When closing a channel on KampungChat an email MUST be sent to closures stating, among other things, why the channel was closed. This email should list the channel name and amount of time the channel is to be closed in the SUBJECT of the email.

This sample email does NOT have to look like the one you send in. As long as your email contains this information, I will be satisfied.

In the event that you closed a channel and have come to an agreement or understanding with the channel founder and wish to reopen a channel you closed, feel free to do so. However, please be sure to email the Closures Committee to explain why the channel was reopened. If you wish to reopen a channel that was closed by another IRCop, please email the Closures Committee and let them look into it for you.

Any member of the closures team can reopen these channels. No emails to closures are necessary when reopening channels on their set date to reopen, however now this is done automatically through services.

Please use your head when dealing with channels such as #kkk. These channels have as much right to this network as we do. Unfortunately we may not agree with their views, but they are protected by the first ammendment and deserve the same treatment as any other channel on the network.

The current guidelines are:

War Channels containing the word "war" or "perang" in the channel names are to be closed PERM.

War Channels that do not contain those words should be closed for one week, and if their activities persist, they should be closed PERM as well.

Channels that Mass Advertise should be closed for one week on the first offence, and any infractions thereafter should be reviewed individually. Before closing a channel that constantly mass advertises, make certain that the channel has been warned numerous times, and the channel has been mkicked. Also, make certain that someone with channel access is responsible for the advertisments.

Server Ads are NOT tollerated on this network. However, before closing these channels, you should give the Channel time enough to make the change in their topic. If the change is not made in a reasonable amount of time, the channel should be closed for 7 days as well. If the channel name is the server name, the channel should be closed PERM.

Impersonation Channels are NOT tollerated on this network and should be closed PERM. Please use good judgement when closing these channels.

Sequals to closed channels are not allwowed either. If you close #KampungChat. and then the founder opend #KampungChat2, that channel should be closed as well. The more often they do this, the more likely additional time will be added to all the channels involved.

 Quick Reminders:

• When closing a channel, make certain the founders name and all relevant information is available in your email.
• When closing channels make certain that all correct procedures have been followed.
• If you are closing a channel for server ads, please remove the ad from the topic before you close the channel.
